The Classic
Golden Triangle

1
Arrive Delhi
You're met at the airport and taken to your hotel to settle in. Nothing scheduled today — rest, adjust to the time difference, and have an easy first dinner. The city will still be there tomorrow.
✈️ International arrival🏨 Hotel check-in🍽️ Easy first dinner
Day
2
Old Delhi
A full morning in the layered old city — Jama Masjid, a cycle-rickshaw ride through the lanes of Chandni Chowk, and Raj Ghat. The pace is unhurried so the chaos feels exciting rather than overwhelming. Afternoon is free to rest.
🕌 Jama Masjid🛺 Chandni Chowk rickshaw🕊️ Raj Ghat
Day
3
New Delhi
The contrast: wide avenues and grand buildings of Lutyens' Delhi, Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, and India Gate in the evening. A gentler, greener day after the intensity of the old city — a different country almost entirely.

Getting There
Delhi → Agra
🚗By Road
~4 hours
Private AC vehicle on the expressway. Comfortable, scenic, recommended for families who want flexibility.
✈️By Flight
No direct flight
Delhi–Agra has no direct air connection. Road or train are the only options — the expressway is fast and smooth.
Our recommendation: Take the road. The Yamuna Expressway is excellent and gives you a relaxed start to the day — stop for breakfast, arrive in time for lunch.
Day
4
Delhi to Agra · Agra Fort
A mid-morning drive to Agra down the expressway (around four hours). Arrive in time for lunch, then an afternoon at the magnificent Agra Fort before settling in for the night near the Taj. Your first distant view of the Taj at dusk.

⭐ Trip Highlight
Taj Mahal at Sunrise · Fatehpur Sikri
The earliest start of the trip, and worth every minute — the Taj in the soft morning light, before the crowds. Back to the hotel for a proper breakfast, then a short drive late morning to the abandoned red-sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri. A relaxed evening back in Agra.

Getting There
Agra → Jaipur
🚗Via Delhi by Road
~8–9 hours total
Drive Agra → Delhi (4hrs), then Delhi → Jaipur (5hrs). A long day — possible but tiring for families.
✈️Drive to Delhi · Fly to Jaipur
4hr drive + 1hr 15min flight
Drive Agra → Delhi in the morning, then a short evening flight Delhi → Jaipur. Far gentler on families. ~AUD 80–150/person.
Our recommendation: Take the flight from Delhi to Jaipur. The road option is exhausting. The drive to Delhi in the morning is comfortable; the afternoon flight is quick and you arrive fresh.
Day
6
Agra to Delhi · Fly to Jaipur
A morning drive back to Delhi (around four hours). On arrival, a short early-evening flight from Delhi to Jaipur — far gentler on everyone than the long cross-country road. You're met at Jaipur airport and into the Pink City for the night.
🚗 Morning to Delhi✈️ Delhi → Jaipur flight🌆 Arrive Pink City
Day
7
Jaipur · Amber Fort
The hilltop fort in the morning, with the option of a jeep ride up to the gates. Afternoon at the Jal Mahal water palace and a relaxed evening, perhaps with a light-and-sound show at the fort. One of the most visually spectacular days of the trip.
🏯 Amber Fort🚙 Jeep ride (optional)🏞️ Jal Mahal🎭 Light & Sound show
Day
8
Jaipur · The City
The City Palace, the astronomical instruments of Jantar Mantar, and a photo stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal. The afternoon is for the bazaars — textiles, jewellery, and blue pottery. Jaipur's markets are among the best in Rajasthan.

Getting There
Jaipur → Delhi
🚗By Road
~5–6 hours
The highway is good. A long final travel day — fine if your flight home departs the following day.
✈️By Flight
~1 hour 15 min
A short morning flight. Gives you a proper last evening in Delhi for dinner and repacking. ~AUD 70–120/person.
Our recommendation: Take the flight. An hour in the air versus 5–6 on the road on your last travel day — easy choice. Saves energy for the international journey home.
Day
10
Jaipur to Delhi · Last Evening
A short morning flight back to Delhi (around an hour and a quarter) — much gentler than the road. The rest of the day is free in Delhi: any last shopping, a final dinner, and repacking near the airport. A gentle end to a full trip.
✈️ Jaipur → Delhi🛍️ Last shopping🍽️ Final dinner
Day
11
Departure · Delhi Airport
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Your driver will have you there with time to spare. Nothing planned — just the journey out of India and back to Australia.
